An International Agri-business Development and Management Specialist, with over 35 years of diversified and practical experience in agri-business value chain development and management, export marketing and agro-processing in the Caribbean, gained through working with national, regional and international public and private sector organizations, as a manager, chief executive officer, director, adviser, consultant and investor.
Have been engaged on long and short-term assignments in an advisory or management capacity with public and private sector agencies involving all member states of CARICOM. These covered work along the entire value-chain, including research, product development, policy, strategy, programme and project development, implementation as well as management of commercial operations.
Have undertaken over 70 consultancies with entities, including among others, UNDP, FAO, IADB, IICA, Commonwealth Secretariat, CARICOM Secretariat, OECS Secretariat, CDB, CFC, CARDI, CEDA, Compete Caribbean, Ministries of Agriculture in Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago, St. and Kitts-Nevis, Ministries of Trade & Industry in Dominica and St. Lucia, Tobago and with private sector multi-national companies such as, Cargill Inc. U.K, Sibley International USA and Fintrac Inc. USA).
Made numerous presentations to CARICOM Agricultural Minister’s at COTED, and at other national, regional and international meetings, seminars, conferences and workshops.
In addition to his consultancy experience he brings exceptional practical experience in agribusiness value chain management having worked in various positions as Farm Manager, Packinghouse Manager Marketing Manager, Regional Trading Manager, Country Team Leader, CEO and President
Currently the C.E.O of Woodsman Caribbean Ltd. a food processing company (root crops, fruits, vegetables, condiments, coconut water, juices and gluten free- bakery products) and the Caribbean Agribusiness Development Company (CADCO) an investment promotion company, President of the Caribbean Agri-business Association (CABA), a development organisation, and a member of the "CARICOM Agriculture and Food and Nutrition Cluster" established by the CARICOM Secretary General, to co-ordinate agri-business development at the sectoral level in the Region.
Professional qualifications include, EMBA in International Marketing and Entrepreneurship; Post Graduate Diploma in Food Technology; B.Sc. in Agriculture; Certificate in Quality Management and several Certificates in Marketing Management
