37 YEARS OLD, RICARDO CHAMBERS IS A YOUNG FARMER HAS BEEN FARMING ON HYDROPONICS AT SWABY HOPE IN MANCHESTER JAMAICA FOR CLOSE TO SIX YEARS.
CHAMBERS WHO IS A GRADUATE OF THE UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA, IS NOW A TREND SETTER FOR YOUNG FARMERS IN JAMAICA, AND HE WANTS TO USE TECHNOLOGY TO REVOLUTIONISE FARMING IN JAMAICA TO HELP JAMAICA TO LOWER ITS IMPORT BILLS BY FARMING MORE OF THE PRODUCE THAT IMPORTS.
 

Small Farming Large Yield  

Randal Legister is a young farmer in The community of Cheapside in St.Elizabeth Jamaica  He has been farming for 6 years and said he was inspired by his grandfather who was a big farmer back in the days. Randal said he took up farming seriously six years ago when his daughter was born and he have no regrets. Randal is now farming cantaloupe,cucumber, water melon , sweet peppers and string beans and hope to expand to include other crop..

Meet PAUL ELLIS
“THE GINGER MAN” Mr.Ellis has been farming ginger from  age 9 , he told us he grow up seeing his mother and father planting Ginger, he learned everything about How to grow and care for Ginger from them, Mr Ellis is Now producing up to 5000 lbs of Ginger per season, but Ginger is not the only thing he plants, he also farms crops such as Yam, , Turmeric, corn,sorrel and Irish potatoes..
